Selira AI is a web-based AI companion platform that lets users chat, generate images, and create videos with over 1,000 AI-powered characters. Unlike most AI chat platforms that restrict adult content, Selira AI is built specifically for uncensored, NSFW conversations, offering unlimited free messaging with no paywalls on chat. Users can browse existing companions across categories like romance, fantasy, and anime, or create their own custom AI companion from scratch with a unique personality, appearance, and backstory.

How It Works
Selira AI combines multiple AI technologies into a seamless experience:
Chat Engine: Conversations are powered by DeepSeek V3.1 via OpenRouter, delivering fast, context-aware responses. Each companion has a detailed system prompt built from their personality traits, backstory, and conversation memories.
Memory System: An AI-powered memory layer extracts key details from conversations, including names, preferences, emotional states, and shared experiences, and feeds them back into future chats. Your companion genuinely remembers you.
Image Generation: Realistic images use SDXL with FaceID technology, IP-Adapter, to maintain companion likeness across generations. Anime images use the WAI-NSFW-Illustrious model. Both run on dedicated GPU infrastructure via RunPod for fast results.
Video Generation: Any generated image can be turned into a 5 or 10 second video using the DaSiWa Lightspeed model, producing smooth, realistic motion from a single frame.
Content Moderation: A two-tier system, rule-based and AI-powered, ensures all content stays within legal boundaries while preserving creative freedom for adults.

Selira AI runs entirely in the browser, no download, no app install, no special software. It works on desktop, tablet, and mobile devices. The interface is responsive and optimized for touch on mobile, with a dedicated mobile navigation system and keyboard-aware input handling for iOS and Android.

On first visit, users are presented with a fullscreen age verification gate. Users must confirm they are 18 or older before accessing any content. Declining redirects to Google. Verification status is stored locally so returning users are not asked again. By confirming, users also agree to the Terms of Service and Privacy Policy.
Account registration is available via email/password or OAuth through Google, Apple, and Facebook, powered by Supabase authentication.
There is currently no public developer API or SDK, but the platform is built on open web standards and Netlify Functions, making it extensible for future developer integrations.

Age verification happens in two layers:
Global Gate: On first visit, all users must confirm they are 18 or older via a fullscreen popup before accessing any content. Declining redirects away from the site. Verification is stored locally so returning users are not asked again.
Regional Identity Verification: Users visiting from regions with stricter age verification laws, including Germany, the UK, France, Australia, and specific US states, Texas, Florida, Louisiana, Utah, Ohio, are required to complete identity-based age verification through Didit, a third-party verification provider. Until verified, all NSFW media, images, videos, and generation previews, is blurred and inaccessible. Verified users regain full access instantly. Paid users who cannot complete verification are offered a full refund.

API Options
Selira AI does not currently offer a public API. All functionality is accessed through the web interface. The backend runs on Netlify Functions, Node.js, with RESTful endpoints for chat, image generation, companion management, and payments.
