DeepVerify - AI Fact Checker for YouTube Review: An In-Depth Overview

WHAT IS IT?

DeepVerify is a Chrome extension that fact-checks claims in place, without making you leave the page you are on. It closes the gap between noticing a questionable claim and actually verifying it: normally that means pausing, opening a tab, searching, and judging sources, by which point the moment has passed. What separates it from asking a chatbot is that verdicts are written from sources retrieved at the time of the check, not from a language model's training data, and every result exposes those sources so you can audit the reasoning yourself.

HOW IT WORKS

Claims are checked three ways depending on the content.

Selected text: highlight any sentence on any webpage and it is verified immediately.

YouTube: the extension reads the video's captions, detects which statements are factually checkable, and verifies them in the background, attaching a timestamp to each so you can jump to the moment it was said.

Live audio: audio from your microphone or from the tab currently playing is captured and streamed to speech-to-text. The running transcript is scanned at a fixed interval for checkable claims. Because spoken sentences often depend on the previous few seconds, each detected claim is first rewritten into a self-contained statement before it is checked.

After detection the process is identical in all three paths: sources are retrieved, and a verdict is written only from what was retrieved. Each claim returns as Verified, False, or Uncertain with a confidence score and the list of sources used. Claims that could not be confirmed stay Uncertain and are excluded from the Trust Score rather than being counted against the speaker.

USE CASES

Watching news, politics, or commentary on YouTube and wanting to know which specific statements hold up. Following a livestream, webinar, or earnings call where there is no time to pause and search. Reading an article, forum thread, or social post and wanting a source for one particular sentence. Reviewing AI-generated text for statements that sound confident but have no support behind them. Research and coursework where claims need to be traced to primary sources. Journalists and analysts triaging which claims in a long transcript deserve manual checking.

PRODUCTS

Free ($0): 3 documents per day and 20 per month, with 5 auto-verified claims per document. Live Audio Mode is not included and history is stored only in your own browser. No card required.

Pro ($30): higher limits, including Live Audio Mode.

Max ($220): highest limits for heavy or team usage.

DeepVerify is part of the Factagora product family, alongside the Factagora fact-verification API and DeepStamp, a content fingerprinting and AI-misuse detection tool.

API OPTIONS

The verification engine behind DeepVerify is available directly as the Factagora API for developers who want to run fact-checking inside their own products or pipelines. API keys.

BROWSER EXTENSIONS

DeepVerify is itself a browser extension, built on Chrome Manifest V3. It runs as a side panel rather than a popup so results stay open while you keep reading or watching, and it injects an inline card on YouTube pages showing verification progress and Trust Score without requiring the panel to be open.

COMPATIBILITY

Chrome on desktop, Manifest V3. Interface available in English and Korean.

COMPANY

Factagora builds infrastructure for verifying factual claims, offered both as a developer API and as end-user products. DeepVerify applies that engine to the places people actually encounter claims: video, live audio, and everyday web reading.
