OpenFate is a freemium AI astrology web app that combines free chart calculators with optional AI-powered explanations. It includes Chinese astrology systems such as Bazi (八字, Four Pillars of Destiny) and Zi Wei Dou Shu (紫微斗數), as well as Western astrology, Vedic astrology, Human Design and Sukuyo.
How OpenFate works
Choose the type of chart you want to explore and enter the required birth details. OpenFate first calculates the chart using its own calculation system. You can then use AI explanations to better understand the results in simple language.
Basic chart calculations are free and do not require an account. More detailed AI reports and follow-up questions require an account and either credits or an eligible membership.

OpenFate works directly in a web browser on both desktop and mobile devices.
The basic chart calculators are free. Detailed AI reports and typed follow-up questions use credits or membership access. Credit packs start at $6.99 for 250 credits as a one-time purchase, and monthly and annual membership options are also available.
A useful feature is that users can first view their calculated chart for free and then decide if they want to pay for a more detailed AI explanation.
Developer option
OpenFate also offers an MIT-licensed Bazi MCP server for developers and compatible AI assistants. This is a separate open-source tool and is not the same as the main OpenFate web app, which operates as a freemium service.
About OpenFate
OpenFate was founded by Iven Zhang. One of its main ideas is to keep the actual chart calculation separate from the AI interpretation, so the AI explains an already calculated result instead of creating the chart itself.
The interpretations are designed for learning, reflection and entertainment. They should not be treated as scientifically proven predictions or guarantees about future events.
