stampdr Review: An In-Depth Overview

Choose the Shape Before Adding Text

Before typing anything, think about what shape works best for your stamp. The shape makes a big difference in how much text you can fit and how the final design looks.

Round stamps are a popular choice for company seals. They usually have the business name curved along the top, with another line of text at the bottom. Oval stamps work well for longer company names because they offer more room. Rectangular stamps are better when you need several lines of text, such as an address, date, or company details.

Triangle stamps and decorative frames can look nice for badges or craft projects, but they don't leave much room for writing.

Not sure which shape to choose? The round vs rectangular stamp guide shows how both look on real documents, while the oval stamp guide is useful for longer business names.

Make Sure the Text Is Easy to Read

Start by choosing the actual size of your stamp. Once that's set, adjust the text to fit. It's much easier than designing everything first and then trying to squeeze it into a smaller space.

The editor includes common stamp sizes, but you can also enter your own width and height. This is handy if you're replacing an existing stamp or need it to fit a particular area on a document.

One thing to watch out for is text size. Words might look perfectly clear when you're zoomed in on your screen, but they can become difficult to read when printed at their actual size. Always check your design at 100% before finishing.

A few simple things can help:

  • Try to keep the company name on one line. Shorten words like "Limited" or "Incorporated" if you need more space.
  • Leave some room between curved text and the outer border so the letters don't touch the line.
  • Stick to one or two fonts. Simple, narrow fonts usually work better for long company names.
  • Put registration numbers, phone numbers, and dates on separate lines so they're easy to read.

For more help, the stamp size guide, curved text spacing guide, and stamp font guide explain these details with additional examples.
